The Superfund and Omaha

The Environmental Protection Agency spotlights the progress on lead poisoning prevention and the Omaha Superfund area. It includes a wealth of information on the number of Omaha residents in the Superfund area inlcuding detailed information on the number of students and child care facilities affected. It also has links to additional resources on hazardous substances.

Federal Register - Tuesday, February 26, 2002 
On February 26, 2002, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) took the first step in a series of actions to place the Omaha Lead Site on the National Priorities List (Superfund designation).
On Thursday, April 18, 2002 representatives from EPA Region 7 will be holding an Availability Session at the TAC Building from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. regarding the Superfund Program. All stakeholders (the Omaha community) should attend this very important meeting. It will be an opportunity to get questions answered, concerns addressed, find out the status of the filing, explanation of the process, etc. It is free and open to the public.
